Goodbye Judith Quinlan

This week, we said goodbye, and then hello to our Youth Engagement Officer, Judith Quinlan.
Judith has been a huge contributor to Harbour Hockey and our community as a full-time permanent member of the team. She believes strongly in creating opportunities for all to enjoy the game of hockey, and her achievements with Harbour Hockey, are a testament to her. Not to mention the time she spends as a player, coach, parent, and valued volunteer amongst our whanau.
With tertiary qualifications in fundamental youth movement skills, Judith delivered the very first Pre-School Play and Explore Sports programmes for kids under 5 to explore multiple sports including hockey, through the concept of play.
Judith has also led our very first Hockey Without Limits (HWL) programme at Harbour, providing those with physical or intellectual impairments the opportunity to be active, have fun, and learn new skills through hockey. This programme is close to Judith’s heart, and we feel privileged to have helped her bring HWL to our community.
And although Judith will be missed as a full-time member of our team, we are excited to welcome her back under the auspices of Longridge Sports through to the end of school Term 3 this year. This will ensure continuity of delivery for HWL, Funsticks, and some in-school programs. So, while we say goodbye with huge thanks, we also say welcome back with relief that Jude/Longridge Sports will continue to deliver key youth hockey programmes for Harbour Hockey.
Thanks Jude, good luck for what’s ahead!
