North Harbour Hockey Announces New Official Apparel Supplier

North Harbour Hockey Announces New Official Apparel Supplier

The North Harbour Hockey Association (NHHA) and Tsunami Sports Limited (Tsunami) are pleased to announce a new three-year Official Apparel Supplier partnership to benefit our Hockey community.

The custom design, quality, and the eco-standards of the full range of Tsunami apparel are what drew NHHA to them, and with their passion and commitment to providing environmental solutions Harbour Hockey has confidence they are the right provider to bring into our Harbour whanau. The NHHA is committed to a more sustainable approach to business, so partnering with Tsunami, whose mission is to be the best environmentally driven team-wear brand on the planet, was a natural fit.

And with a friendly and professional New Zealand based team including their CEO, Andrew Chambers, based in Taranaki, we are assured of prompt and efficient service to NHHA alongside their NZ and international clients.

Initially signed to a three-year term, Brad Clark, NHHA Chief Executive sees this as a long term, sustainable partnership for Harbour Hockey, “Having connected with Andrew and the Tsunami team and seen some of the great designs already delivered, we view Tsunami as a long-term partner and supplier to our hockey whanau. And as an organisation committed to sustainability, we also love what Tsunami stands for with their use of recycled materials and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. The Harbour Hockey team and I are excited to see us all looking our best in our Tsunami kit and to our first Tsunami online store opening very soon!”

Andrew, Tsunami Sport Limited Chief Executive and Founder agrees that the link to NHHA is a natural fit. “We are always seeking like-minded, proactive partners. And in NHH we have found an ideal partner to share and showcase our values and goals. The synergy between our two organisations has been effortless and we are so proud to be presented with the opportunity to showcase our market-leading products, fabrics, and practices on such a forward-thinking organisation.

We are always seeking continuous improvement and development. And to have a partnership that shares a desire for innovation and willingness to pioneer new grounds holds some free exciting times together for NHHA and the wider hockey community.”

Tsunami, established in 2003, has been the leader in Eco Driven apparel for the last decade. As an organisation, Tsunami is committed to providing environmental solutions for apparel needs while delivering the best customer experience one should expect from a premier teamwear brand.

On average, there are 12-16 repurposed plastic bottles in each Tsunami shirt. There are several eco-based practices that Tsunami and their staff follow to continue to advance their sustainability credentials wherever possible. The Tsunami Sports Eco-Fit range use only high-quality GRS 1-certified recycled polyester (rPET), the use of recycled PET reduced energy consumption by up to 70% and CO2 emissions by 40%. Orders are packaged individually in their Hong Kong office using only Tsunami cartons made from recycled paper. Tsunami do not support the use of single-use plastics, product bags are made from PVAL (Polyvinyl alcohol); PVAL is industrial compostable, biodegrades in water, and is food safe, helping to fight ocean pollution. All inks used in the sublimation process are bio-based and involve zero water usage.

Tsunami will provide NHHA with all representative team wear (on and off-field items), programme apparel, official uniforms, staff uniform, and an exciting range of supporter’s merchandise that will be available shortly. You may have already seen our Cubs and Hawklet participants in their programme shirts. These participants have benefited from the quality when training and have been involved and approved the customised artwork.

Unfortunately, with the cancellation of the National Hockey Championships this year, our Premier Hawks and Wolves Teams, who were to be the first teams to showcase our new uniform, have not had the opportunity to do so. The silver lining is we are now looking forward to seeing our 11+ Masters Teams take the field in the new uniform early in 2022.

On behalf of our members, we thank Tsunami for their support to help NHHA provide quality uniforms and merchandise that we can take pride in wearing on and off the field.
