Welcome back spectators & COVID Update

Welcome back spectators!

With the announcement this week to remove capacity limits for outdoor events and gatherings, we are very pleased to welcome back spectators to the National Hockey Centre from tomorrow. Yay! Just in time for winter hockey.

There is, however, a vaccine mandate still in effect until Tuesday 5 April, so vaccine passports will be required to enter the NHC until that date.

The NHC main Clubroom / Bar & Café will unfortunately remain closed until we have greater freedom under the Covid Protection Framework that is still under Red restrictions. Under this setting we are restricted to 200pp indoors and all customers must remain seated, requiring table service. With the added logistics and costs associated with staffing, this is not sustainable for the NHHA. We look forward to opening properly as restrictions are eased, and have set 15 April, Easter Friday as our review date regardless to consider further changes.

With the main Clubhouse still closed, the Village Green will see further enhancements from this weekend, with a dedicated beverage service facility on site thanks to our friends at Coca-Cola Amatil. This we hope will ease pressure from the Food Truck and give us more capacity to deliver the best possible experience for you.

Best of luck to all for the opening weekend of winter hockey at the National Hockey Centre!
