We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with Youthtown, who will deliver our Holiday Programmes at the National Hockey Centre, starting in the July School Holidays.
Youthtown are a not-for-profit organisation that have been working with children and young people across NZ for almost 90 years. They are well known for creating high quality, varied and enjoyable programmes that support young people, encouraging them to try something new and develop new skills.
This partnership allows North Harbour Hockey to offer a much wider range of school holiday activities to our members as well as featuring full day options with programmes running from 8.15am – 6pm. During the July holidays there will be two programme options – ‘Hit Em Up’, which will appeal to hockey players and sport lovers, and the Harbour Holiday Programme, for those who prefer creative arts, crafts, science and general games.
The Hit Em Up Programme is a sports-based option, featuring coaching, skills development and training from highly experienced coaches. With two days of hockey, two days of multi-sports plus an off site day trip each week, children will have a great opportunity to work on their skills in a fun environment. The Harbour Holiday Programme includes dress up day, recycling crafts, up tempo games, a weekly day trip and party day. This is a fun mix of activities that children from 5- 13 will enjoy.
‘We are very excited by this new partnership with Youthtown as we know this will give our members and their children the benefit of a quality programme, delivered by a highly experienced team who understand how to connect with young people. Youthtown are a trusted youth organisation, working with schools, community groups and families for many years. They can deliver a wide range of activities that will not only provide a premier holiday programme experience to our existing members, but will also allow us to showcase our world class facilities to other parts of the local community and help grow our future membership’ Riki Burgess – NHHA CEO
