North Harbour Hockey Association (NHHA) is incredibly excited to offer our Hockey Without Limits programme at Metropark in association with Hockey Hibiscus Trust.
This is a hockey-based (but not exclusively hockey focused) programme open to participants aged 8-21 with physical or intellectual impairments. Following the successful pilot during 2021 and now full roll out of the programme at NHHA (Albany) for 2022, an initial four week pilot is proposed for a Hibiscus Coast module at the Hockey Hibiscus Trust (HHT) facilities at Metropark in Millwater.
Sessions will run from 9:30-10:30am each Sunday from 20 Feb to 13 March, and the cost is $40 for the 4 sessions. You can join for single sessions for $10 per session. We understand that Covid concerns are front and centre, so we would be offering this programme on a fully vaccinated basis (for those eligible).
This programme can run under all traffic light levels with the support of a guardian/carer. We are hopeful that by obtaining interest early, we can work on designing session plans that meet the needs of participants.
We welcome family members/friends to join in the programme to support featured participants free of charge.
All participants must provide a primary contact who is comfortable to discuss the needs of the individual with NHHA/HHT for delivery. All participants must have a supervisor available (the role of a supervisor is to support engagement of the individual on the day). All participants must bring water, wear a hat and sunscreen and have appropriate clothes and shoes for outdoor activity on a hockey turf. Hockey sticks are provided on the day.
