Get ready for an exciting journey with our U16 Rep Program!
Through this campaign, athletes will participate in dynamic training sessions, building skills, teamwork, and leadership. This program includes two high-energy trials where players can showcase their talents, a 7-8 week training programme with your teams, followed by a thrilling National Tournament and Northern Region Festival.
With the National event returning to the tournament calendar, our Premier U16 teams will once again get the chance to compete against the best players in the country.
The Northern Region Festival will continue in its established format. Highlights from 2025 included Harbour entering 12 teams (6 Girls and 6 Boys), topped off with Harbour Webster Girls winning the Grant McLeod Tournament and the Harbour Edwards Boys taking home the Riki Burgess Trophy.
Harbour will be aiming for another strong presence and top tier performances in these events.

U 16 Boys Trials: Trial 1 Friday, 24 July, Trial 2 Friday, 31 July, and Trial 3 Friday, 7 August.
U 16 Girls Trials: Trial 1 Friday, 24 July, Trial 2 Friday, 31 July, and Trial 3 Friday, 7 August.

Under 16 National Tournament - Hockey New Zealand Event.
The National Tournament is split by gender and held during the Term 3 school holidays at locations decided by Hockey New Zealand.
Age Eligibility Rules (As per Hockey New Zealand rules): Players must be under the age of 16 years old as of 1st January of the year in which the tournament is played and must be over the age of 14 years old as at 1st January of the year in which the tournament is played.
- Year 9s not eligible for the U16 National Tournament ARE allowed to play in the U16 Northern Regional Festival (Information below).
- U16 players who meet the age criteria for U18’s may only play either U16s or U18s, NOT both.
Dates: 3 October to 7 October.
Location: The Boys are in Auckland, and the Girls are in Christchurch.
Under 16 Northern Region Festival - Northern Regional Association Event.
The two tournaments (Grant McLeod and Riki Burgess Trophy) are split by gender at locations decided by the Northern Region Group.
