The 2017-23 Strategic Plan process and implementation

The development of this plan included a thorough consultation process led by Harbour Sport to all members through the surveying of all members and staff followed by a workshop fleshing out survey results to clearly understand the North Harbour Hockey communities desired direction over the next five years.

Armed with the consultation results the NHHA Board have developed the draft NHHA Strategic Plan 2017-22 and are now happy to share it for final consultation. Final consultation ended on the 10th of March 2016. The NHHA Board then asked all members to take the time to look over the draft Strategic Plan 2017-22 and provide any additional feedback through Harbour Sport before the plan was adopted and implemented in 2017.

Harbour Hockey Charitable Trust

Divisional Committees are overseen by members of our community who are elected through the AGM each year and appointed to represent the various stakeholders of NHHA. Reporting to the CEO of NHHA these committees help us ensure our members needs stay at the forefront of our association.

The NHHA Umpires and Officials Division administer all aspects of umpiring and match officiating for hockey in North Harbour and shall undertake other responsibilities as directed by the CEO. Amongst others, these activities will include appointments of and development in programmes, representative, club, school, youth, masters and social competitions delivered by NHHA. This group helps design NHHA Officials pathways, frameworks and development plans. Members of this group can often been seen around the turf every day of the work helping to positively promote officiating to our harbour whanau.

The NHHA Life Members and Supporters Division is tasked to look after and promote the interests of all NHHA affiliated supporters as valuable members of the NHHA community, and shall undertake such other community related responsibilities as directed by the CEO of NHHA. Responsibilities of this group include but are not limited to facilitating community experiences and opportunities around hockey for supporters of NHHA who are not players, officials or coaches or staff. The group is also tasked with looking for ways to engage our local community and members to connect with North Harbour Hockey.

The objective of the CEC is to administer all club or club-related hockey or any other responsibilities as directed by the CEO. The group functions to provide advice and guidance to NHHA on Open Competition related matters including but not limited to suitable competition structures to cater to ability and age of participants. Members on this group support NHHA to communicate competition information such as rules, regulations and processes back to their respective member clubs.

The NHHA Coaches Division administer all aspects of hockey coaching and coach development in North Harbour. This group is tasked with creating the NHHA Coaching Philosophy, and designing pathways, frameworks and systems that align to the NHHA coaching philosophy. The group is passionate about development of policies, processes and resources that support all coaches across all competitions and programmes within our community.
